Development Coordinator - Part Time
Position Summary
This position reports directly to the Chair of the Board of Directors of Sounds of the Next Generation (SONG) and is responsible for supporting activities related to fundraising, donor management and resource development as outlined in the Strategic Plan. This position functions as an ambassador for SONG raising the profile of the organization in Northumberland County, Ontario.
This position involves close collaboration with the Artistic Director, Board of Directors and Fundraising Committee, key volunteers and major donors. Key tasks and responsibilities include implementing an annual fundraising campaign, soliciting individual gifts, securing corporate sponsorships, writing grant proposals, and coordinating fundraising events.
- Supervises the Administrative Assistance and perform their annual performance appraisal
- Participates on Board of Directors committees relating to Development such as (but not limited to) Fundraising, Special Events and Finance Committees
- Prepares reports and update the Board of Directors regularly
Marketing and Communication
- Formulates an annual implementation plan against the strategies approved by the Board of Directors
- Develops in-house marketing materials for fundraising purposes (including presentations)
- Develops and updates, as needed, both sponsorship and donor materials
Resource Development
- Meets or exceeds annual fundraising goals
- Identifies potential sources of funding for SONG
- Prepares/applies for funding from available sources
- Maintains and builds a donor / sponsor base
- Develops community connections to raise the awareness of SONG
- One to two years of fundraising experience
- Certificate in marketing, business development or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook)
- Effective organizational skills
- Proven donor relationship building skills
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Able to process a high volume of transactions with attention to detail
- Able to work flexible hours (including some evenings and weekends)
- Proven self-started who can work remotely while traveling to onsite meetings and public presentations
- Maintain a home office
